A good friend gave me a wall hanging that says, "Each day is a gift." I think our luxury of choices in life also gives us reasons to complain. If we had nothing, absolutely nothing, and then were given only one option for a life, we would be ecstatic for that one chance, however meager. But we have everything-safety, food, health, family, friends, experiences, fun. Sometimes it's easy to think about all the things we are NOT doing rather than all the wonderful things we are doing. So.
For all the freedom we never think about,
To the opportunities we have grown to expect,
For every day we are blessed to live such lives of choice,
And for every average, normal thing about us,
Cheers.

It's almost like we have the freedom to choose WHAT we will consume, but not the ability to choose NOT to consume.
